Fashion lovers, you see the cover image, and I know what you’re thinking, but first, let me give you a mini style lesson. Back in 2011, Raul Lopez, a New Yorker with proud Dominican roots, went out to shake up the world with his creativity. With a fearless passion for standing out, and his mom cheering him on, he created Luar fashion (which is his first name spelled backwards), a label that has become a symbol of both self-expression and culture. Fast forward to Super Bowl Sunday, February 8th, Bad Bunny put on a show like only he can. And in this unforgettable moment, fashion didn’t just make a statement; it was a whole mood, reminiscent of the boldness seen in Lady Gaga fashion, a declaration of identity, and for me, so worth writing a piece about.

If you are a Luar follower, you already know that Raul Lopez has a clear mission: to unite through his designs by creating silhouettes that are, as he puts it, "FOR THE CULTURE." Each piece embodies Luar fashion, feeling effortlessly and unapologetically expressive. Lady Gaga’s one-of-a-kind fashion creation perfectly encapsulated that vision, brought to life with movement and energy, and finished with pleats so striking they were nothing short of iconic.

Made to conquer. And what I mean by that is, this gown was made to conquer our hearts, much like the stunning pieces seen in Lady Gaga fashion. The color was vibrant yet elegant, the kind of blue that feels timeless and carries that indescribable vintage energy, reminiscent of Luar fashion. The pleats gave the gown movement and life. And I don't know about you, but I think that the perfect muse deserves a perfect ensemble, and Raul Lopez most definitely understood that assignment. Iconicness was served in the most natural way possible.

Teamwork is power, and it was evident not only on the Super Bowl stage but also in this stunning display of Luar fashion. The image to the left proves that it truly takes a village. Whether there are 3 or 500 involved, collaboration fuels creation. This sharing of ideas and diverse perspectives is what brings a vision to life and gives it lasting impact. From Jehan Vazifdar to Diego Cajas to Rachael Schwarz, and every creative mind within the Luar team, this outfit embodies the power of teamwork. Just as Lady Gaga has often showcased through her bold fashion choices, the collective effort here reflects a unique creativity that can only be achieved together, much like the vision of Raul Lopez.

What if I told you that those pleats we can’t stop admiring in Lady Gaga's fashion were hand-pleated? And that striking red flower you see on the side of her chest is a flor de maga, which is native to Puerto Rico. Where I’m from, we call it 'amapola.' That floral detail was such a beautiful, meaningful nod to heritage designed by Piers Atkinson. Statements were made, and yet again, Raul Lopez showcased the kind of visionary he is in Luar fashion. Craftsmanship was at the heart of it all, but most importantly, UNITY.
